Indonesia's KPK awaits case hearing in MBG nutrition programme corruption probe

Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is waiting for the outcome of a case‑hearing before deciding whether to move its investigation of alleged corruption in the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme to a higher stage. Acting Director of Investigation Achmad Taufik Husein said the commission must avoid dual investigations and is awaiting a leadership decision on how to coordinate with the Attorney General’s Office, which has already escalated the matter to the investigation stage.

The Attorney General’s Office is probing alleged misuse of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) points, citing financial losses to the state. Former National Nutrition Agency (BGN) chief Dadan Hindayana, two former deputies – Inspector General (Ret.) Sony Sonjaya and Lieutenant General (Ret.) Lodewyk Pusung – have been named suspects under articles of the criminal code and anti‑corruption law. The MBG programme is a flagship initiative of President Prabowo Subianto.
