Indonesia Labour Minister Yassierli Unveils AI‑Driven Workforce Strategy and Expanded Internship Hub

Minister of Labour Yassierli said artificial intelligence, digital transformation and the green economy are reshaping Indonesia’s labour market. He called for upskilling and reskilling programmes and promoted the SIAPkerja digital platform that links training, certification, job listings and apprenticeship opportunities.

The ministry announced that the National Internship Program (MagangHub) will be integrated with the Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Profesi (BNSP) so that participants receive nationally recognised competency certificates. Registration for the 2026 cohort opens 15‑28 July, with the quota raised to 150,000 slots. Governance of MagangHub will be tightened through a revised curriculum, mentor standards and stricter oversight of host companies.

In addition, Yassierli ordered the transformation of Balai Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) into an Occupational Safety and Health Management Hub to shift focus from compliance to preventive risk management and to foster collaboration among government, industry, universities and professional bodies.
