Indonesia's Local Governments Push PPPK Salary Hikes and Guarantee Payments to 2026

The Tulungagung regional finance office (BPKAD) has proposed raising monthly wages for part‑time contract civil servants (PPPK) from the current Rp350,000‑400,000 to between Rp750,000 and Rp1 million. The plan, which would require about Rp13 billion a year, is aimed at improving pay consistency and is slated to be included in the 2026 budget amendment. Officials cautioned that converting part‑time PPPK positions to full‑time could strain future fiscal capacity.

In the neighbouring regency of Cirebon, the Head of the Human Resources and Development Agency (BKPSDM) confirmed that all PPPK salaries, including the 13th‑month allowance, are fully funded through the end of 2026. The regency’s budget allocates 38 % of its total APBD to personnel expenses, a rise from 36 % the previous year, ensuring payment continuity despite a modest decline in overall revenue.
