Indonesia's LPSK Rejects Sony Sonjaya's Justice Collaborator Request in MBG Corruption Case

The Indonesian Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has denied former National Nutrition Agency deputy head Sony Sonjaya's application for justice collaborator status in the alleged corruption of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program. LPSK cited several legal deficiencies, stating that Sonjaya did not meet the requirements set out in the Witness and Victim Protection Law (Law No. 3/2026) and Government Regulation No. 24/2025.

According to LPSK deputy chair Susilaningtias, Sonjaya failed to provide critical information about higher‑level participants in the scheme, was identified as a principal perpetrator, and did not demonstrate willingness to return assets obtained from the alleged crime. The agency also found no evidence of threats that would warrant protection. The decision was announced in Jakarta on Tuesday.
