Indonesia's LPSK Steps Up Protection for Sexual Harassment and Trafficking Victims

A female employee who alleges sexual harassment by MRN, the head of a workers' union in Cikarang, has applied for protective measures from the Lembaga Perlindungan Saksi dan Korban (LPSK) and lodged a complaint with the National Commission on Violence Against Women. Her attorney, Ermelina Singereta, emphasized the need for legal safeguards, psychological support, and a safe environment for testimony.

Separately, LPSK accompanied 13 victims of human trafficking from West Java as they testified at the Maumere District Court in East Nusa Tenggara. Vice‑chair Sri Nurherwati said the agency ensured the victims could speak without intimidation, provided procedural rights, legal protection, psychosocial rehabilitation, and assistance with restitution, while coordinating with provincial and local authorities.
