Indonesia's Ministry of ATR/BPN advances housing and geothermal initiatives

The Indonesian Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) is advancing several initiatives focused on land legality and infrastructure support. During a groundbreaking ceremony for affordable housing in Manggarai, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, Chairman of the Indonesian Housing Task Force, announced a new program by Minister Nusron Wahid to provide free land certification for low-income communities. This initiative aims to ensure legal asset certainty and support the provision of decent housing through a collaboration between the Ministry of ATR/BPN and the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas.

Separately, the Ministry of ATR/BPN received the ‘Outstanding Government Collaboration’ award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources at the 10th Indonesia International Geothermal Convention and Exhibition. The award recognizes the agency's role in supporting geothermal energy development, particularly through land acquisition for National Strategic Projects and providing legal certainty for land used in geothermal projects across Indonesia.
