Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower targets employment ecosystem growth

Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) is focusing on strengthening the national employment ecosystem through strategic partnerships, vocational education reform, and improved industrial relations.

Secretary General Cris Kuntadi announced plans to expand cooperation with PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) to enhance labor market services, competency development, and apprenticeship programs. This partnership builds upon previous agreements to utilize Sharia banking products and platforms like Karirhub to disseminate job vacancies and support national internship programs.

Minister of Manpower Yassierli emphasized that building an inclusive and productive ecosystem requires strengthening industrial relations. He noted that the ability to navigate rapid changes in the workforce depends on improving the Human Capital Index, digital skills, and national innovation. He highlighted the importance of Collective Labor Agreements (PKB) in fostering harmony between management and labor unions.

Additionally, the Ministry identified five critical pillars for a successful vocational education ecosystem: competency and character, technological adaptability, learning infrastructure, institutional governance, and the practical utility of graduates for the workforce and society.
