Indonesia food price update: Chili peppers near Rp60,000 per kg

The National Strategic Food Price Information Center (PIHPS), managed by Bank Indonesia, released retail price data for July 11, 2026. Red bird's‑eye chili (cabai rawit merah) was listed at Rp59,850 per kilogram, making it the highest‑priced staple among the surveyed items. Fresh chicken eggs (telur ayam ras) were priced at Rp28,950 per kilogram.

Other retail prices included onions (Rp45,650/kg), garlic (Rp44,550/kg), and rice ranging from Rp14,550/kg for lower‑grade varieties to Rp17,650/kg for premium types. Fresh chicken meat sold for Rp37,000/kg, while beef of the highest grade cost Rp150,550/kg. Sugar and cooking oil prices were also disclosed, with premium sugar at Rp20,300/kg and bulk cooking oil at Rp20,550 per liter.
