Indonesia's National Nutrition Agency Appoints Nutrition Experts and Pediatricians to Advisory Council
The Head of Indonesia's National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik S. Deyang, announced the formation of a seven‑member Advisory Council to guide the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program. About five of the members will be leading nutrition scholars, with the remaining seats filled by pediatricians, providing technical direction and oversight for the agency's food‑distribution operations.
The council will supervise BGN leadership, grade kitchen capacities, and ensure meals meet balanced‑nutrition standards. The move follows President Prabowo Subianto’s establishment of BGN and opens the program to CSR support from state‑owned enterprises and foreign grants, while confirming that kitchen‑operating foundations need not be school‑affiliated.
