Indonesia's National Nutrition Agency officials face corruption probe and dual‑role scandal

Brigadier General LMI, an active police officer serving as Secretary Deputy for Promotion and Cooperation at Indonesia's Badan Gizi Nasional (BGN), has been named a suspect in a corruption case involving the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program. Investigators allege he arranged a company with two witnesses to sell food trays to prospective service partners at inflated prices, embedding a profit margin for himself to secure approval of service sites. LMI remains an active member of the police force.

Separately, Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) has filed a report with the Ombudsman accusing BGN's head, Nanik S. Deyang, and vice‑heads Agustina Arumsari and Trenggono of holding simultaneous positions in state‑owned enterprises, including commissioner roles at PT Pertamina and PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara. The report claims these dual appointments violate Indonesia's Public Service Law and raise conflict‑of‑interest concerns, especially in the wake of the MBG corruption revelations. ICW urges the Ombudsman to recommend the removal of the officials.
