Indonesia's BGN Denies Hoax of MBG Profit Sharing with President

Head of Indonesia's Badan Gizi Nasional (BGN), Nanik S. Deyang, publicly refuted rumors that the free nutrition program (Makan Bergizi Gratis, MBG) was sharing profits with President Prabowo Subianto, labeling the claim disinformation. She stressed that official statements are issued only through verified channels and that the program aims to improve nutrition, not generate private gain.

Former BGN officials—former head Dadan Hindayana and deputies Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung—have been detained as suspects in a corruption case tied to the MBG program's management. Sonjaya has submitted a request to act as a justice collaborator, offering to reveal other involved parties, a request currently under review by investigators.

Amid the scandal, BGN appointed Agustina Arumsari as its spokesperson following a recommendation from the DPR Commission IX. Nanik remains free of charges and has not been summoned for questioning, while three former colleagues are already in custody. The agency urged the public to verify information before sharing, warning that false narratives can mislead and stir unrest.
