Indonesia's OJK Introduces Crypto Influencer Certification to Strengthen Ecosystem

Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) has issued POJK No. 6 of 2026, mandating that all financial and crypto influencers obtain a competency certification. The rule requires influencers to demonstrate adequate knowledge of the financial services sector and to provide accurate, transparent education and investment recommendations, aiming to improve consumer protection and reduce misinformation.

Indodax Chief Marketing Officer Aloysia Dian welcomed the regulation, describing it as a positive step for the national crypto market. She said certification will boost the credibility of content creators, enhance public trust, and support a healthier, more sustainable crypto ecosystem. The regulation also obliges crypto service providers (PUJK) to disclose partnerships with influencers, ensure promoted products are authorized, and uphold data‑privacy standards.
