Indonesia's OJK launches SLIK upgrade to boost UMKM credit and 3‑Million‑House program
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) announced the optimisation of the Sistem Layanan Informasi Keuangan (SLIK) which will take effect on 1 July 2026. The upgrade requires financial service providers to update borrower information within three working days after repayment and applies a reporting threshold for loans above Rp1 million, aiming to deliver faster, more accurate credit data.
The reform is intended to widen access to credit for low‑income households, micro‑, small‑ and medium‑size enterprises (UMKM) and to support subsidised mortgage lending under the government’s 3‑Million‑House housing initiative. OJK Chairperson Friderica Widyasari Dewi and Housing Minister Maruarar Sirait launched the initiative at the OJK headquarters in Jakarta, with participation from banking, financing and housing‑development stakeholders.
SLIK is already used by 2,169 reporting entities and handles roughly 31‑35 million debtor‑information inquiries each month. By improving data timeliness and relevance, OJK aims to increase financial inclusion while preserving credit quality, consumer protection and overall system stability.
