Indonesia's OJK reports venture capital financing reaches Rp16.36 trillion in May 2026
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) said eight of 94 peer‑to‑peer lenders and eight of 144 financing firms have not met the minimum equity requirement of Rp12.5 billion and Rp100 billion respectively, and administrative sanctions were imposed on dozens of companies.
OJK chief executive Agusman highlighted that venture‑capital financing grew modestly in May 2026, recording Rp16.36 trillion, a 0.09% year‑on‑year increase. He stated, “Nilai pembiayaan per Mei 2026 mengalami pertumbuhan sebesar 0,09% secara Year on Year (YoY).” The sector’s assets rose to Rp27.49 trillion, up 1.74% from the previous year. He also noted that all financing companies and P2P platforms have submitted action plans to meet capital requirements, saying, “Seluruh perusahaan pembiayaan dan penyelenggara pindar telah menyampaikan action plan kepada OJK.” The broader financing sector showed mixed growth, with BNPL financing up 53.78% YoY to Rp13.18 trillion and fintech lending expanding 25.60% YoY to Rp103.73 trillion.
