Richard Arief Muljadi arrested at Soekarno‑Hatta Airport for coal fraud

Indonesia’s Attorney General’s Office announced the capture of 38‑year‑old businessman Richard Arief Muljadi on 20 June 2026 at Soekarno‑Hatta Airport in Tangerang after his return from Singapore. Muljadi, listed on the Prosecutor’s Office’s Daftar Pencarian Orang (DPO), is accused of a coal‑business fraud scheme that caused losses of up to Rp7 billion. He faces charges under Articles 378, 372 and 55 of the Indonesian Criminal Code, with a maximum penalty of eight years’ imprisonment. The arrest was carried out by the Satgas Intelijen Reformasi dan Inovasi (SIRI) team in cooperation with the Tangerang and Banjarmasin district prosecutors. Muljadi cooperated throughout the operation and was transferred to the Banjarmasin District Attorney for further legal proceedings. Prosecutors urged other DPO members to surrender, stating that “there is no safe place to hide for fugitives.”
