Indonesia's P2MI Ministry Signs MoUs to Strengthen Migrant Worker Protection

Governor Andra Soni of Banten province signed a memorandum of understanding with Minister Mukhtarudin of the Ministry of Protection of Migrant Workers (P2MI) in Serang on 18 June. The agreement, also involving PT Krakatau Steel and the alumni network of Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, aims to create an integrated ecosystem for Banten's migrant workers, providing pre‑departure training, capacity‑building and professional placement to improve their skills and safety abroad.

On the same day, the Central Employees Organization of Indonesia (SOKSI) concluded its own MoU with P2MI. SOKSI’s chairman Mukhamad Misbakhun said the partnership will help communicate government programmes, raise public understanding and support the president’s vision of comprehensive protection and up‑skilling for all Indonesian migrant workers.
