Indonesia's PLN announces Salatiga power outage maintenance and refutes tariff‑increase rumors

State electricity utility PT PLN (Persero) says its UP3 Salatiga unit will carry out three days of distribution network maintenance from 7 to 9 July 2026. Planned outages will affect several neighbourhoods each day between 09:00 and 12:00 local time, with areas such as Plumpungan, Kauman Kidul, Dersansari and Gamol listed for interruption. PLN advises residents to avoid unsafe activities near power lines and to keep up with bill payments.

Separately, PLN’s UP3 Palopo division warned that social‑media posts claiming a rise in electricity tariffs for April‑June 2026 are false. The utility confirmed tariffs will remain unchanged for the quarter, as mandated by the government, and urged customers to obtain information only from official PLN channels such as the website, PLN Mobile app, and verified social‑media accounts.
