Indonesia's PLN expands CSR with biomass fuel pilot and agrarian reform support

PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Transmisi Jawa Bagian Timur and Bali (UIT JBM) handed over assistance for a pilot Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) biomass programme in Olehsari village, Banyuwangi, East Java on 22 July 2026. Senior Manager Andri Oktavian delivered the support to foundation chair Bibit Suwiji in the presence of local officials. The RDF plant, capable of processing 10 tons of waste, aims to produce substitute fuel for power plants and industry, reducing landfill volume and providing an alternative to coal. General Manager Ika Sudarmaja said the project “is a solution that addresses both effective waste management and the provision of environmentally‑friendly energy.”

Separately, PLN’s Unit Induk Distribusi Sulawesi Selatan, Tenggara, dan Barat (UID Sulselrabar) is assisting the National Land Agency’s agrarian‑reform programme in Majene, West Sulawesi. The effort focuses on land legalisation, redistribution and capacity‑building for UMKM in the villages of Limbua and Bonde Utara, where average monthly incomes are below Rp 2 million. General Manager Edyansyah explained that the “Rumah BUMN … is a space for learning, collaboration and growth for UMKM,” providing training and resources to help small enterprises add value to agricultural and fishery products.
