Indonesia's PLN expands power to border village while scheduling Bali outage
PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) is preparing to commission electricity supply for Dusun Motaulun in Desa Tafuli, Malaka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, near the Indonesia‑Timor Leste border. PLN’s Kupang project unit manager Albertus Koko Hendriyanto said the commissioning test will verify technical, safety and reliability standards before the village receives power, which local leader Martha Tafuli said will improve night‑time activities, education and health services ahead of Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day.
Separately, PLN announced a scheduled temporary power cut for Thursday, 30 July 2026, affecting eastern Bali areas including Kuta and Tabanan. The outage is part of maintenance and network reinforcement work intended to boost supply reliability, as communicated via the PLN Bali Instagram account.
