Indonesia's PLN readies electricity for Masela ceremony while President vows 100 GW solar build
PT PLN (Persero) Unit Pelaksana Pelanggan Saumlaki prepared a 700 kW power supply for the Ground Breaking of Block Masela in Lermatang, Tanimbar Selatan. The utility carried out on‑site technical surveys, mapping of existing networks, and coordination with local authorities to ensure reliable electricity during the event, which is slated to be attended by the President of Indonesia.
In a separate announcement, President Prabowo Subianto set an ambition to install 100 GW of solar power capacity within two years. He directed the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, the Energy and Mineral Resources Minister, and the Investment Minister to accelerate the program, noting that PLN will begin with a 17 GW solar rollout this year as the first step toward the larger target.
