Indonesia's PLN Schedules Sorong Outage and Announces 50% Power Upgrade Discount

State electricity company PT PLN (Persero) announced a scheduled maintenance shutdown in Sorong City on Friday, 17 July 2026, from 13:30 to 15:30 WIT. The temporary outage will affect Jalan Arfak, the Belagri Hotel area, Jalan Kuda Laut and the Bukit Baru complex. Customers in the affected zones are advised to charge devices, adjust business activities and ensure electrical equipment is safe during the interruption.

Separately, PLN’s East Java distribution unit launched a "Tambah Daya" promotion offering a 50 % discount on connection fees for low‑voltage customers who increase their power capacity. The programme, available until 27 July 2026 via the PLN Mobile app, applies to customers with existing power ratings from 450 VA to 5 500 VA who wish to raise capacity up to 7 700 VA. Eligible households must have been registered before 1 July 2026, have no unpaid bills and complete at least one token purchase or bill payment through the app to receive the e‑voucher discount.
