Indonesia's Prabowo orders public briefing on foreign investment surge
President Prabowo Subianto held a closed‑door meeting at the Kertanegara residence in Jakarta with Investment and Industrial Development Minister Rosan Roeslani and other cabinet members, including Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia and Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. Rosan presented a report on his recent work trips to the United States, Europe and Asia that showed a marked rise in global confidence and inflows of foreign capital into Indonesia’s strategic sectors.
President Prabowo directed Rosan to disclose the positive investment data publicly at Merdeka Palace on 15 June 2026, aiming for greater transparency and public confidence. Bank Indonesia also reported foreign inflows of Rp19.02 trillion on 10‑11 June, following a recent interest‑rate hike, underscoring the heightened attractiveness of Indonesian assets.
The briefing is intended to provide an evidence‑based overview of the country’s investment environment and support continued economic growth amid evolving global conditions.
