Indonesia's Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo Denies Private Jet Use Amid Leave Policy Scrutiny

Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo faced criticism after reports suggested he traveled to eastern Indonesia on a private jet and was involved in managing staff leave matters at the ministry. He refuted the claim, stating that the aircraft he used was a state‑owned plane operated by the Ministry of Transport, not a privately‑rented jet.

Hanggodo explained that non‑commercial flights are necessary due to his dense schedule, which often requires him to move between two to three provinces or districts in a single day and work late into the night. “Bukan, itu adalah pesawat milik negara yang dioperasikan oleh Kementerian Perhubungan,” he said, emphasizing that the flights support his official duties rather than personal convenience.
