West Java government delivers water aid to drought‑hit Cimahi residents and funds reconstruction of fire‑damaged Ciptam­

The Ministry of Public Works (PU) in West Java is supplying clean water to residents of Cimahi affected by a prolonged drought. Minister Dody Hanggodo emphasized water’s role in sustainable development. Five tanker trucks, each holding 4,000 liters, are dispatched twice weekly to six service points in four RW areas, delivering about 20,000 liters per trip or roughly 40,000 liters per week.

In Sukabumi, provincial authorities have pledged to rebuild 51 traditional houses in the Ciptamulya village that were destroyed by fire. Governor Dedi Mulyadi ordered the provincial Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) to transfer the task to the Department of Community Empowerment and Villages (DPMD). Rehabilitation will preserve the original architecture and materials, with implementation overseen by local adat leaders. Funding is allocated at about Rp 50 million per small house, disbursed directly to beneficiaries.

Both initiatives reflect West Java’s coordinated response to separate natural‑hazard emergencies, combining immediate relief with longer‑term cultural preservation.
