Indonesia's Single‑Window Export Policy Gains Support from Shipowners and Regulators

The Indonesian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA) welcomed the government’s single‑window export system for strategic natural resources, saying it improves transparency and competitiveness. The policy, enacted by Government Regulation No 24/2026, will be administered by the newly created state‑owned enterprise PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) starting 1 June 2026, with full operation expected by 1 January 2027. Initial commodities covered are coal, crude palm oil and ferro‑alloy. INSA chair Carmelita Hartoto praised the “government breakthrough” and urged that the system continue to allow private‑sector growth.

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is monitoring the policy’s impact on Indonesia’s insurance sector. Under the same regulation, 100 % of export‑derived foreign exchange must remain domestically, and export procedures will shift to DSI. OJK’s chief of insurance supervision, Ogi Prastomiyono, noted that demand for marine‑cargo risk coverage will persist and advised insurers to strengthen risk‑management and underwriting. The General Insurance Association (AAUI) highlighted potential effects on marine‑cargo, hull, liability and property insurance lines, depending on how smoothly the new export administration is implemented.
