Indonesia's Finance Sector Reports Growth, New Pawnshop Licence and Gold Platform Launch
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) said Indonesia's multifinance industry is on track to expand 6‑8% this year, aiming to channel about Rp30 trillion in financing. To date, the sector has disbursed roughly Rp9 trillion, with total loan receivables reaching Rp514.65 trillion, driven largely by trade, leasing and a 28% year‑on‑year rise in household financing. OJK also granted an operating licence to PT Gadai Saling Jaya, a pawnshop company based in Manado, North Sulawesi, outlining mandatory disclosures, interest rates and a 30‑day commencement period.
Separately, Emas Now introduced its "Smart Buy" program, promising lower profit margins, free nationwide shipping and flexible pricing for gold purchases such as Antam, UBS and G24. Director of Marketing & Operations Alif Fauzan explained the initiative aims to make gold investment more affordable and transparent for Indonesian consumers.
