Indonesia's SMESCO launches mass KUR loan ceremony for 1,000 UMKM

SMESCO held the Festival Kemudahan dan Pelindungan Usaha Mikro in Jakarta, offering free business consultations to 1,000 micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) and conducting a mass signing of Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) loans. The event also featured a product bazaar and promotional discounts aimed at expanding market access and strengthening the competitiveness of participating businesses.

UMKM are described as a key driver of Indonesia’s economy, creating jobs and providing household income across sectors such as food stalls, retail shops, handicrafts and online sales. The festival’s support services target the micro‑enterprise challenges of pricing, production costs and digital marketing, encouraging owners to adapt to changing consumer behavior and technology.

The combined initiatives are intended to boost the resilience and growth of Indonesia’s micro‑enterprise sector by improving financing pathways, offering expert guidance and facilitating market exposure.
