Indonesia's Transport Minister and Grab Train 1,000 Drivers in Safety Riding

Indonesia's Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi and Grab Indonesia, together with the Ministry of Transportation and the Motorbike Industry Association (AISI), conducted a safety‑riding training program for 1,052 two‑wheeler driver partners across five cities – Depok, Yogyakarta, Surabaya/Sidoarjo, Medan and Makassar. The hybrid sessions combined classroom instruction on traffic signs, road etiquette and vehicle checks with practical drills on braking, hazard detection and safe riding techniques.

The initiative, branded “Safer Roads, Stronger Communities,” aims to embed a culture of safety in the digital transport ecosystem. In parallel, the Ministry highlighted new Grab policies: a maximum 8 % commission effective 1 July 2026 and same‑day settlement of driver earnings beginning 1 August 2026, intended to increase transparency and driver confidence.
