Indonesia's Zakat Initiatives Support 2,000 Vulnerable Children and Provide Free Skin Care to Santri

Sinergi Amil Zakat (SAZ) has launched the "Wujudkan Anak Ceria" program, aiming to assist 2,000 vulnerable children—including orphans, impoverished families and disabled youths—in Indonesia and Palestine. Activities include an educational visit to KidZania Jakarta for 50 children, distribution of food packages, payment of school fees, provision of school supplies, and ongoing social support. Since the program began in June 2026, 172 children have already received aid.

The National Amil Zakat Board (Baznas) through its Rumah Sehat unit in Pesawaran delivered free health education and treatment for skin diseases to santri at two local pesantren. Idy Muzayyad, head of Baznas' distribution and empowerment division, said the effort is “a real expression of Baznas' care for the health of santri and the community.” Participants received medical examinations, free medication, and instruction on clean‑living habits. Indonesia now has 38 Rumah Sehat facilities, including two mobile services operating from ships in North Sulawesi.
