Indore police arrest woman for murder of newlywed in water tank

Police in Indore have arrested a woman for the murder of 21-year-old Vandana Kushwaha, whose body was discovered in a water tank outside her residence in Nehru Nagar. The victim had married Upendra Patel in a love marriage on August 11, just 25 days before her death.

According to investigators, the suspect, identified as the victim's sister-in-law Parvati Kushwaha, allegedly attacked Vandana with a knife following a dispute. The argument reportedly stemmed from comments Vandana made regarding Parvati's brother, who is currently incarcerated. After the attack, the suspect allegedly placed the body in the water tank to conceal the crime.

Neighbors alerted authorities after hearing screams and observing bloodstains on Upendra Patel's shirt. While Patel and his brother were initially detained for questioning, police have identified Parvati as the primary suspect. A knife used in the incident has been recovered, and a post-mortem examination is being conducted to confirm the exact cause of death.
