Indore woman arrested for allegedly killing sister-in-law
A woman in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, has been arrested for allegedly murdering her sister-in-law following a dispute during the Raksha Bandhan festival. The accused, identified as Parvati Bai Kushwah, reportedly stabbed the victim, Vandana, twice in the neck with a knife after Vandana made a remark regarding Parvati’s brother.
Police stated that the victim and her husband, Upendra, had married in August despite family opposition and had recently moved into a rented house. The confrontation occurred while the two women were alone at the residence. Following the attack, Parvati allegedly dragged the body outside and dumped it in a water tank in an attempt to conceal the crime.
The incident came to light after Vandana was reported missing. Investigators utilized CCTV footage to track Parvati’s movements, leading to her questioning and eventual confession. Police have recovered the knife used in the attack.
