Indramayu corruption allegations involve road projects and school book procurement
LSM PENJARA INDONESIA DPC Indramayu has reported two major cases of alleged corruption and irregularities in Indramayu Regency.
In the first case, the Sukra-Wanguk road reconstruction project, valued at approximately Rp2.29 billion and managed by CV Gerald Putra Pratama, is under scrutiny. Investigators identified seven fatal flaws, including asphalt thickness of only 2-3 cm, the presence of plastic bottles embedded in the asphalt, and the alleged replacement of geotextile materials with bamboo weaving. The organization estimates potential state losses between Rp300 million and Rp700 million.
The second case involves an alleged monopoly in the procurement of elementary school books using BOS (School Operational Assistance) funds. Investigations suggest that 49 elementary schools across the Haurgeulis and Patrol districts have had their book supplies monopolized by only two companies: CV Damar Indah Kencana and CV Intan Pesan Buku. The total budget involved in this suspected monopoly is approximately Rp950 million. The NGO has called for audits by the Regency Inspectorate and legal action by the District Attorney's Office.
