Indramayu land disputes prompt police investigation and BPN challenges

The Indramayu District Leadership of the NGO PENJARA INDONESIA is pursuing legal action regarding the alleged illegal occupation of state-owned land and disputed land certificates in the region.

In Sekarmulya Village, the Indramayu Police (Polres Indramayu) have begun investigating reports of unauthorized control over embankment land managed by BBWS Cimanuk Cisanggarung. The land is designated for irrigation protection and flood control. Investigators have already questioned one individual, while others have been summoned for further clarification.

Separately, the NGO has submitted an official request to the Indramayu Land Office (BPN) to block and cancel two specific land ownership certificates (SHM) in Sidadadi Village. The group alleges administrative errors in the land registration process, claiming the certificates were issued to individuals that do not match the actual field data and the rights of local farmers.
