inDrive implements AI to enhance urban mobility safety

The mobility platform inDrive is utilizing artificial intelligence and a ‘Safety by Design’ approach to enhance passenger and driver security. In Colombia, the company has used AI to reduce driver identity verification times from four hours to approximately 15 minutes. This system includes liveness checks to prevent identity theft and cross-references data against known offender databases.

During trips, the platform offers several real-time safety features, including real-time route sharing, an emergency SOS button, and encrypted audio recording. Passengers can also verify driver details, such as photos, vehicle models, and license plates, before boarding. To promote these features, inDrive launched the ‘Voy contigo’ campaign in collaboration with Peruvian singer Amy Gutiérrez.
