inDrive safety and privacy technology implementation

Overview

The mobility platform inDrive has introduced several technological updates aimed at enhancing user security and data privacy across Latin America.

In Colombia and Peru, the company implemented artificial intelligence through a ‘Safety by Design’ approach. This includes using AI to reduce driver identity verification times from four hours to roughly 15 minutes, utilizing liveness checks and offender database cross-referencing. Safety features also include real-time route sharing, an emergency SOS button, and encrypted audio recording.

Expanding on these security measures, inDrive has introduced phone number masking technology for traditional GSM cellular calls in Chile. This system uses a temporary proxy number to ensure the actual phone numbers of drivers and passengers remain private during trips. This privacy feature is already operational in Brazil, Mexico, and Peru.
