Industrial acquisitions reshape Romanian manufacturing sector

Several significant industrial acquisitions involving Romanian manufacturing entities have been confirmed.

Italian investor Newport & Co S. p. A. has acquired the operations of Justrite in Romania and Justrite Italia S. r. l. This transaction separates these entities from the American Justrite Safety Group. The Galați-based factory, which has operated since 2003, specializes in equipment for handling and storing hazardous substances, including leak prevention and industrial waste management. As part of the transition, the Justrite brand name will be phased out from products and documentation under a temporary license.

Separately, the European Commission has approved the acquisition of Artrom Steel Tubes by the international group Tenaris. The Commission determined that the deal does not pose competition concerns, as sufficient competitors remain in the targeted markets. Artrom Steel Tubes, which operates production units in Slatina and Reșița, produces seamless steel tubes for industrial applications. Tenaris, which already operates Silcotub in Zalău, will expand its industrial footprint in the Romanian market through this acquisition.
