Industrial fires in Germany cause over €1 million in damage

A mobile pellet press ignited in Hasbergen, Germany, spreading flames onto a roughly 100‑square‑metre field near the street “Zur Hüggelschlucht.” Police and fire services were alerted shortly after 16:00, secured the area for about three hours, and reported no injuries. Early estimates placed the material loss at around €600,000.

In Hamm, a fire broke out at the Westfleisch meat‑processing centre during the night, destroying a tractor and five refrigerated trailers. The blaze was discovered around 01:00, prompting a large response that included fire brigades, the Technical Relief Agency, and environmental authorities. No one was hurt, environmental impact was minimal, and the company's production continued unaffected. The damage was assessed at more than €500,000.

Both incidents resulted in significant financial loss but caused no personal injuries and did not interrupt the respective businesses’ operations.
