Industrial fires in Milan area and Perugia cause damage
A large fire erupted at a waste‑recycling platform on Via Riccardo Lombardi 13, on the border of Settimo Milanese near Milan. Six fire‑engine units, including the specialized NBCR team, fought the blaze for several hours. No one was injured, but the fire destroyed large amounts of recyclable material and caused damage estimated in the tens of thousands of euros. A thick plume of black smoke was visible for several kilometres, prompting ARPA Lombardia to begin air‑quality monitoring and environmental sampling.
In a separate incident in Via Settevalli, Perugia, flames broke out in the external area of a company and spread to a vintage club van belonging to the CAMEP historic motor‑club. Firefighters used foam jets to bring the fire under control quickly. The vehicle suffered severe rear‑end damage and its contents were destroyed, while the company's exterior structure also incurred material loss. No injuries were reported and authorities are investigating the causes of both fires.
