Industrial growth in Bosnia and Herzegovina as mining and manufacturing sectors expand

Significant industrial developments are occurring in Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlighted by milestones in the mining and manufacturing sectors.

DPM Metals announced that its Vareš gold and silver mine has reached commercial production status as of August 10, 2026. This milestone was achieved ahead of schedule after the facility maintained an average daily processing rate of 72 percent of its projected capacity over 30 consecutive days. The company has set a target to reach a full production capacity of 850,000 tons annually by the end of 2026. Current production expectations for the year have been revised upward to the upper limit of 105,000 to 130,000 gold equivalent ounces.

In the manufacturing sector, Prnjavor-based DIS Eurostandard is launching a new investment project valued at nearly 30 million KM. The company, which specializes in steel constructions for supermarkets, plans to expand its production and logistics capacities, including new facilities for manufacturing, warehousing, and worker training. This expansion is expected to create 100 new jobs. DIS Eurostandard maintains a high export orientation, with 95 percent of its production destined for foreign markets, primarily in the European Union, including Austria, Germany, Italy, and Croatia.
