Ineos Grenadier secures military contracts with Italy and Austria
Ineos Automotive has secured significant military contracts for its Grenadier 4x4 vehicle with the Italian Army and the Austrian Government. These agreements mark the first time the British-designed off-roader has been ordered by sovereign defense forces.
Italy becomes the first NATO member to place a sizable order for the vehicle. Deliveries to the Italian Army are expected to begin in early 2027 via the regional distributor ATFlow. While the specific contract value and quantity remain undisclosed, the vehicle will be provided in military specification.
In Austria, the government awarded a tender to vehicle armoring specialist Valentin Tusch GmbH. This contract will provide modified Grenadiers with enhanced protection for use by Austrian defense and interior security forces. Deliveries and trials in Austria are scheduled to commence before the end of 2026.
Ineos Automotive Chief Commercial Officer Mike Whittington described the agreements as a ‘vote of confidence’ in the vehicle’s capabilities as the company continues discussions with other national defense procurement teams.
