Chilean thieves arrested after million‑peso heist at Distribuidora Santarrosa in Bahía Blanca

On 4 June, three men broke through the roof of Distribuidora Santarrosa in Bahía Blanca, Argentina, and stole cash from an office on Brandsen 730. The robbery, valued at more than 40 million Argentine pesos, was carried out by a small crew who cut a perfect hole in the ceiling, triggered the alarm and accessed the vault where the money was kept.

Police intercepted the suspects at the San Francisco de Asís bus terminal as they attempted to travel to Mar del Plata. The three arrested individuals – Leonel Antonio Villa Villa (42), Pablo Andrés Castillo Antipe (44) and Camilo Germán Pardo Villarroel (33) – are residents of Temuco, Chile. They were found with about 35 995 730 pesos in cash bundles, as well as tools, gloves, a cap and a signal‑jammer. The owner, Diego Santarossa, said the thieves appears to have known exactly where the money was stored, suggesting possible insider information.
