Infinity Ward details DMZ mode for Modern Warfare 4

Infinity Ward has released extensive details regarding the DMZ mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Set in the Hajin Exclusion Zone, the mode is described as an action-oriented extraction shooter featuring an open-world combat environment. The map includes over 60 points of interest across urban, rural, and industrial settings, with dynamic weather and varying threat levels.

Players will utilize a Forward Operating Base (FOB) to manage progression, which can be expanded through successful deployments. The FOB includes services such as a 3D printer for crafting gear, a firing range, and an armory. DMZ features a dedicated 70-level progression system and persistent items that can be lost upon death.

Unlike the previous iteration of DMZ, which was available via Warzone 2.0, the new version is tied to the full purchase of Modern Warfare 4. The game is scheduled for release on October 23, 2026, with digital pre-orders offering early access to the campaign starting October 16 or 17.
