Karely Ruiz robbery suspect detained in Nuevo León
A man identified as Guillermo “N”, 30, was arrested on August 4 in the municipality of Escobedo, Nuevo León, after forensic analysis linked his fingerprints to the violent home robbery of influencer Karely Ruiz on July 29. The suspect was taken to a state reinsertion center and placed under the authority of a control judge while authorities continue to pursue other members of the armed gang.
The assault, carried out by six to seven masked men who entered the Ruiz residence in San Nicolás de los Garza through an open gym window, resulted in the theft of roughly 20,000 pesos in cash and 200,000 pesos worth of jewelry, part of which has been recovered. Karely Ruiz and her husband Jhon Echeverry described the incident as a “moment of terror,” noting that their infant daughter was not present. They have sought psychological help and plan to release security‑camera footage to counter accusations that the attack was staged. The investigation, led by state prosecutor Javier Flores Saldívar, remains ongoing.
