Infrastructure and water management projects completed in Târgu Mureș and Buzău

In Târgu Mureș, the Mureș Water Management System completed a 5-kilometer cleaning operation on the Pocloș stream. The work, which took place between June 18 and August 10, involved both mechanized equipment and manual labor to clear the stretch between the Livezeni Street bridge and the Turbina Canal confluence.

Authorities from the Mureș Water Basin Administration (ABA) reported that waste has reappeared in certain areas, specifically between the Libertății Bridge and the Turbina Canal, only five days after the cleaning was finished. Officials have issued an appeal to citizens to prevent illegal dumping to protect the completed work.

In Buzău, the completion of a centralized sewage system project in Padina has helped fulfill a critical milestone for Romania's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The €15 million investment, funded through PNRR water management components, represents the final 7.5% of a national program.

Simona Săvulescu, manager of Compania de Apă Buzău, noted that completing this project was vital to avoid the risk of having previously disbursed investment funds reclaimed and to ensure the unlocking of €700 million in non-reimbursable EU allocations tied to specific milestones.
