During an exceptional Council of Ministers meeting held on September 10, 2026, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and the Senegalese government focused on accelerating regional development and territorializing public policies.
A primary focus was the implementation of the Plan Diomaye pour la Casamance (PDC), a sustainable development program for the Casamance region, including Ziguinchor, Kolda, and Sédhiou. The President ordered an evaluation of the plan's execution and called for increased resources for the National Center for Anti-Mine Action (CNAMS) to secure villages and agricultural zones.
Additional directives included improving infrastructure in border areas, enhancing social services, and addressing food sovereignty. The government also emphasized protecting household purchasing power, managing public finances, and accelerating sectoral projects in education, industrialization, and youth entrepreneurship.
