Infrastructure development accelerates in Dong Nai and Phu Cat
Significant infrastructure projects are advancing in Vietnam to bolster regional connectivity and aviation capacity. In Dong Nai, the development of the Long Thành International Airport is driving a broader urban transformation. The airport is expected to begin trial operations soon, with official activity slated for late 2026. This project has catalyzed several strategic infrastructure developments, including the Phước An Port, the Biên Hòa - Vũng Tàu expressway, and the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3. Additionally, the province is investing in new high-capacity roads, some featuring 8 to 10 lanes, to support emerging industrial zones and modern urban areas in Long Thành and Nhơn Trạch.
In the aviation sector, the second runway at Phu Cat Airport is nearing completion following a 3.2 trillion VND investment. The project, which includes a 3,048-meter runway and synchronized technical systems, is expected to enter commercial operation on October 29. Once operational, the airport will be capable of handling Code C aircraft, such as the A320 and A321. To promote tourism, local authorities are also preparing to implement a policy providing 200 million VND in support for each international charter flight arriving at the airport.
