Infrastructure development projects announced in Gabès and Agadir

In Tunisia, the Ministry of Equipment and Housing is planning a feasibility study for a 35 km coastal road connecting Gabès to Zarat. The project, estimated to cost over 262,000 dinars, aims to improve access to the southern coastal areas of Gabès and promote local tourism. Additionally, several regional development projects have been approved, including street improvements in Chatt Essalem, the reconstruction of a rural youth club in Zemorten, and the creation of a municipal market in Bouchemma.

In Morocco, construction is progressing on the Agadir North-East bypass, including the launch of the Abaraz underpass project. Awarded to the SSMT-Atlas Handassa tandem, the underpass is valued at 76.7 million dirhams and is expected to be completed by late 2027. This work is part of a broader 481.8 million dirham investment to upgrade the Agadir port complex. The National Ports Agency (ANP) is also developing a third access point to the port to manage increasing traffic volumes, which reached 7.5 million tonnes in 2025.
