Infrastructure developments in Kraljevo and Kranj

In Kraljevo, Serbia, the City Council recently redirected 27 million dinars from atmospheric sewage and embankment maintenance to road repairs. Despite this availability of funds, the city has lacked a local waste management plan since 2022. The Kulagića ada landfill, which reached its expiration in 2017, continues to receive up to 135 tons of waste daily near residential areas. The Kraljevo Development Center has submitted a proposal for a new ten-year waste management plan, requesting 8 million dinars in the 2027 budget to address these long-standing issues.

In Kranj, Slovenia, the municipality has issued a public tender for the construction of sewage and communal infrastructure in Hrastje, Veliki hrib, and Gorenja Sava. Valued at 17.1 million euros including VAT, the project is part of the 'Equipping the Kranj Agglomeration 2019' initiative. The works include building over eight kilometers of fecal sewage in Hrastje, renewing water networks, improving rainwater drainage, resurfacing roads, and updating public lighting. The project aims to connect 1,390 residents and 19 businesses or public institutions to the system.
