Infrastructure and bridge projects advance across Latin America

Various infrastructure and bridge projects are underway across Latin America to improve regional mobility and safety.

In Argentina, the Municipality of Recreo has begun infrastructure work on Ignacio Crespo Avenue, including drainage and lighting, as part of preparations for the 2026 South American Games. Additionally, traffic restrictions have been implemented on the bridge over the Río Tercero reservoir for structural repairs, and the Maipú Avenue crossing over the Pirayuí stream in Corrientes has reopened following water infrastructure works.

In Colombia, residents in Villavicencio have raised concerns regarding the deterioration of a pedestrian bridge in Monte Carlo Bajo due to soil erosion. Meanwhile, in Tumaco, a new 160-meter concrete stilt bridge is being constructed to replace a decaying wooden structure, benefiting over 200 people. In Medellín, the first bridge of the Avenida 34 interchange in El Poblado has opened, marking 66% completion of the project.

In Panama, the Ministry of Public Works is constructing a new $909,495 reinforced concrete bridge over the Perequeté River in Capira. The project follows the collapse of a previous Bailey-type bridge and aims to serve over 3,000 residents in the Panama Oeste province.
