Infrastructure maintenance and road closures scheduled across Italy

Various infrastructure projects and road closures are set to impact travel in several Italian regions starting October 29.

In the Lake Garda area, significant traffic disruptions are expected. On the SR 249 Gardesana Orientale in Torri del Benaco, alternating one-way traffic will be in effect until November 6 due to sewage pipeline construction. Other local works involving water networks, fiber optics, and asphalt will affect multiple towns, including Lazise, Lonato, Desenzano, and Moniga, with various street closures and restrictions lasting through mid-November.

In Caorle, a 90-day extraordinary maintenance project will begin on the swing bridge over the Saetta Canal on the SP 62. Funded by a one-million-euro investment from the Metropolitan City of Venice, the work aims to consolidate the bridge structure and modernize its electromechanical components, replacing the current manual system. To maintain connectivity between Sansonessa and the historic center, a temporary pedestrian and cycle path will be installed at a cost of 150,000 euros.
